make yourself at home, traveler! welcome to my fansite about one of the bands I've been very into lately, the russian band "Korol' I Shut". I noticed that this band is not very known outside of east europe (probably I'm like the only fan in latam), and almost all of the content is in russian. so, with this page I wanna introduce this band to you all (within what the translator has allowed me to know about them)
Король и Шут (in latin alphabet Korol' I Shut (pronounced like 'karól i shut'), which means King and Jester) is a russian horror punk band formed in 1988 in Saint Petersburg. They are characterized by how they mostly take inspiration for their songs, performances and make-ups from horror tales and folk stories (yeah they took inspiration from the misfits too), in fact most of their lyrics tells you a story, where characters like pirates, trolls, ghosts and vampires make presence; they have some kind of humor or sarcasm tho. They broke up in 2014 after the dead of the lead singer in 2013.
They had a lot of members, but some of them are: Mikhail "Gorshok" Gorsheniov (lead singer. love him), Andrey "Knyaz" Knyazev (singer, lyrics), Aleksandr "Balu" Balunov (bass. love him too), Yakov "Yasha" Tsvirkunov (guitars), Aleksandr "Poruchik" Shchigolyev (drums), large etc.
how the fuck did you get to them if you don't even know russian? ok, is a fun story. first of all a friend of mine introduced me to Kino (another russian band, who is very popular), and I got very into it. I liked it so much that I started to search for other russian bands. And one day of January 2023 I think I was on pinterest and an image of the lead singer appeared to me. It took my attention, "whoah a dude without his front teeth, and he looks crazy, he must have good music". I listened to them and at first I thought that their music was shit. But then I came back, and again, and again, again... I ended up obsessing anyways. And here I am.
